These activities provide the kids with social interaction and a chance to bond with one another.
Examples: icebreakers, talent shows, Kahoots, pictionary, etc.
Through guided activities, we will develop the ability to recognize and understand our thoughts and emotions more effectively. Ultimately, these exercises cultivate awareness of our inner world, fostering greater focus, attentiveness, and serenity.
Examples: deep breathing, guided meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, etc.
Engaging the senses brings awareness to the present moment and promotes relaxation; physical activity offers numerous mental and physical advantages, encourages the development of motor skills, and refines the children's ability to follow instructions. Both involve interacting with the world outside oneself, promoting active participation and engagement with the surroundings.
Examples: yoga, stretching, dancing, etc.
The coaches will introduce various CBT-inspired techniques to help students understand the interactions between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through these presentations, we will learn how to establish a healthy growth mindset to better regulate our thoughts and feelings.
Examples: thinking errors, affirmations, problem-solving, self-care and self-forgiveness, etc.
During this time, the coach will summarize the day’s main points, discuss takeaways, answer questions, give out homework reminders, etc. By integrating the day's lessons and activities with takeaways from previous sessions, we aim to deepen understanding of these concepts as we apply them to a broader perspective.
